Alissa Piland graduated Summa cum Laude with a Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education degree. Alissa is an avid athlete and her focus is on the health of athletes, young and old as sports is her passion. Alissa began her studies at Hawthorn and added to her prior knowledge by understanding the relationship between good nutrition, injury, disease, and sports performance. She believes that athletes will experience improved lifelong health benefits by learning about and choosing basic nutritious foods. Her thesis, Nutritional Effects on High School Male Football Players, gives evidence and support to her theory. Alissa also provides in-home massages and personal nutrition consultations.
